An experience for all senses

Mika Batta Interiores Sensoriales is MORE THAN DESIGN, IT'S AN EXPERIENCE FOR YOUR SENSES.

The basis of interior design is to design spaces for you to develop in a natural and comfortable way, being essential to influence positively on your mood, emotional well-being and health. This promotes your comfort, functionality, safety and productivity.

The view

Mika Batta Interiores Sensoriales delves into two essential aspects of VIEW: lighting and color, both working with a purpose of functional pleasure.

Lighting allows you to delimit spaces, create new ones, transmit sensations and even enhance some areas, as long as you play with it in an appropriate and knowledgeable way. Good lighting will prevent your eyesight from being overexerted, which could trigger, in addition to vision loss, other problems such as fatigue, headaches, eye strain or stress. Natural lighting has an impact on people’s performance and health and is associated with the following benefits: control of the biological clock, reduces fatigue, can cure diseases. The lighting study is carried out jointly with professionals specialized in the sector.

Color is capable of stimulating or depressing, colors favor thermal sensations of cold or heat, and we can also have impressions of order or disorder. Humans respond to the influence of spatial color; psychologically and physiologically. Color is a perception that has an effect and meaning that can be symbolic, associative, emotional, aesthetic, biological, cultural. Color psychology is a discipline that studies how the human brain perceives colors and how they influence our emotions and behavior.

With colored stained glass, pavés, blinds and curtains we generate warm and attractive environments for body and mind.

The ear

The EAR, the only sense that never sleeps, is the sensory organ that contains the sense of hearing as well as the sense of position and rotation. The ear reacts seven times faster than the eye and can differentiate better than the sense of smell. Thanks to this sense we can communicate with the people we love, enjoy movies, the theater or the radio, and hear the sounds of nature. Hearing well is even important to keep our brains awake and active, which increases your quality of life and well-being.

Mika Batta Interiores Sensoriales studies the acoustic insulation of the building to design the acoustic comfort of the space with absorbent and reflective materials, with resonators and diffusers if necessary, checking the reverberation. There is a wide range of decorative acoustic panels for your comfort.

Different colors of noise can also be incorporated into the space to optimize sleep, usually called white noise.

After the study with a western perspective we could harmonize the space with sound and vibrational instruments such as wind chimes that come from an oriental culture, more ancient and more connected to nature and the flow of energies.

Smell

The SMELL is the most sensitive sense, it alerts us to danger before sight and hearing, intrinsically related to the instinct to survival. Smells connect us with moments of our past and make us relive feelings and emotions. When we are born The first thing we do is to follow the trail of mother’s milk and thus we are able to relax just by smelling our mother.

Often we do not give it importance and we only value it when we lose it, as when we have a stuffy nose: then, food tastes nothing and when we recover it, we recover our appetite and we feel more positive and energetic. When we get it back, we regain our appetite and feel more positive and with renewed energy.

Aromas can improve your health and quality of work, their use for therapeutic purposes and emotional wellbeing is a practice that is becoming more and more common. Jasmine is one of my favorites for its relaxing and antidepressant effect, generating confidence, optimism and energy, as well as cinnamon, which has a relaxing and antidepressant effect. in work environments combats mental fatigue by improving concentration and focus, providing energy.

At Mika Batta Interiores Sensoriales we start the olfactory design with the study of the air quality: humidity, dioxides and monoxides to set a healthy foundation. Air quality is a decisive factor to be taken into account, the optimum humidity level will prevent viruses and fungi and an air free from dioxides and monoxides will prevent respiratory problems, allergies, skin infections, heart attacks and strokes. Once these foundations have been established, we will collaborate with experts in olfactory marketing to design the project.

We also have vertical gardens with stabilized plants that are pleasing to the eye and smell.

Touch

TOUCH is the sense with the most extensive sensory organ, the skin, it is a passive and constant sense, whose influence is difficult to isolate from the rest of the senses. We constantly perceive our environment through touch, even if we do not notice it, and thus we are constantly alert to any physical, chemical or thermal aggression we may suffer: an alarm system that signals danger.

Touch is a very important sense for our relationship with the world around us and with nature, walking barefoot, touching the bark of a tree or feeling the wind on our skin. In doing so, tactile receptors in the brain are activated, improving emotional well-being. A space with a diversity of textures in coverings, different forms of furniture, materials with various temperatures will activate these tactile receptors porcelain, wood, textured paints, embossed wallpapers and velvety textiles.

Taste

The TASTE is the sense that allows us to identify flavors; its main organ is the tongue. It is important to distinguish the taste with the flavor, which according to the R.A.E. in 2001, flavor is the sensation that certain bodies produce in the organ of taste. These bodies can be the sensory channels are: taste, smell and somatosensation. The sense of taste does not only work in terms of the processing of the taste information, it also senses the temperature and texture of food.

At the same time, sight, smell and taste combine to give rise to the perception of flavor. Curiosities of this sense are that a large number of most people who go to the doctor because they think they have lost their sense of taste are surprised to discover that they have lost their sense of smell. The sense of smell and taste are the first things to disappear when you are at 10,000 meters above sea level, because of the lack of humidity, low pressure and background noise. Theoretically, depending on the utensil we consume, the taste of the food changes. yogurt with a plastic spoon, it feels denser; if the yogurt is white and eaten with a white spoon, it feels sweeter.

An environment with optimal lighting, humidity and temperature, with both attractive and ergonomic utensils and kitchenware lay the foundations for reaching the summum.
