Who said that pleasure* is not functional?

-Charles Eames.

* Pleasure according to the R.A.E. physical or spiritual enjoyment produced by the realization or perception of something that pleases or is considered good.

"THE HOUSE MUST BE THE CASE OF LIFE, THE MACHINE OF HAPPINESS."

LE CORBUSIER

When you feel PLEASURE you are flooded with joy, peace, security, illusion, hope and MAGIC. The psychic pleasure derives from the recreation caused by imagination and fantasy, the memory of pleasantness, joy, understanding and feelings of balance, peace and serenity, which bring about the so-called HAPPINESS and in the physical pleasure our senses intervene.

We should have happiness machines at home, at work and in entertainment venues. To feel happy, fulfilled, calm and excited for as long as possible.

Are our spaces responsible for our physical, mental and emotional health?

TOTALLY, habitats generate direct effects on your health and on your moods, so interior design should extend its scope to all of our capabilities sensory senses without being restricted to the aesthetic and functional, in addition to sight, the other senses must be involved in order to reach the FUNCTIONAL PLEASURE

How many senses do we have?

We have always been told 5, but for some time now they have been talking about 7, 9, 11. In addition to the usual five, there is proprioception, which allows us to perceive the position and movement of our body in space, and the vestibular sense of balance and movement, through our inner ears.

Babies are born with developed sense of smell and hearing, then develop touch and taste and sight last, at six months.

View

Lighting and color allow you to delimit spaces, create new ones, transmit sensations and even enhance certain areas.

Smell

It is the most sensitive sense, alerting us to danger before sight and hearing, intrinsically related to the survival instinct.

Ear

The only sense that never sleeps, it is the sensory organ that contains the sense of hearing as well as the sense of position and rotation.

Touch

It is the sense with the most extensive sensory organ, the skin, it is a passive and constant sense, whose influence is difficult to isolate from the rest of the senses.
